WORK EXPERIENCE

WJHG-TV NewsChannel 7, Panama City Beach, Florida Production Assistant / Senior Photographer / Editor

11/2003 – 06/2006

In my time with NBC affiliate WJHG-TV, I was quickly promoted from a part time production assistant to the Senior Photographer of the news department. In 2006, only two Associated Press Awards were presented in the Panama City market. I earned the Associated Press award for Best Spot Video with a piece title “Pulled from the Gulf” in which a tourist was rescued from the fierce hurricane-churned waters of the Gulf of Mexico. It was also during my time with WJHG-TV that many of my stories were seen on national news outlets such as NBC, MSNBC, Fox News Channel, and others. During my coverage of multiple shark attacks in the Gulf of Mexico, in the summer of 2005, much of my footage was used nationally as well. The Discovery Channel picked up my footage from that week and produced a Shark Week special entitled “Predator in the Panhandle” that heavily relied on my footage that was shot during the two week long media frenzy. I also served as the live truck operator for the station, broadcasting live from breaking news stories and community events.

Tourist Network, Panama City Beach, Florida Photographer / Editor / Producer

06/2006 – 06/2007 (full time), 6/2007-6/2009 (freelance)

In transistioning from the news aspect of television, I began work at Tourist Network. The network, which is based in Panama City Beach, included channels that broadcast tourism information in cities such as New Orleans, Atlanta, Key West, Myrtle Beach, Pensacola, Destin, and Panama City Beach. I participated in all production aspects of such programs as Local News, Destination Chefs, and Club Hour. I also participated in the production of commercials to be aired on the channels of the network. During my time with Tourist Network, I worked on editing systems such as DPS Velocity and Adobe Premier Pro.

Magic Broadcasting, Panama City Beach, FL 97x air talent

06/2005 – Present

During my time with Magic Broadcasting, I have worn many hats. Between the time I started as an intern and current position as middays host, I have served as an air talent on multiple day parts on all of the stations of Magic Broadcasting Panama City. From January 2007 until November 2010, I served as the night jock on 97x. Also during my time with Magic Broadcasting, I had stints as an on air talent for Wave 100 (mid-days, afternoon; AC format), Island 106 (nights, mornings; CHR format), and Talk Radio 101 (producer). After my time as the evening personality on 97x, I was part of launching an all new afternoon show on 97x.  Following the success of my afternoon show, I was moved to mornings from January 2012 to July 2013.  I was called upon to use my skills in the middays position where the station really needed help. I have also had to help brand our radio cluster in the dawn of the social media with the rise of MySpace, Facebook, and Twitter in the past 8 years. Additionally, I have used my skills in graphic design, web design, commercial production, and imaging all throughout the cluster.
